Folded Flesh

The reconstruction of the author’s body as scultpure presents a complex relationship between subject and object. The author presents its own body as a fetish object, converted intro sculptures from fabric and perspex prints. The self-portraits represent a range of emotions, from pleasure to pain and extasis, sexualizing the author as if it was object to its own artistic practice.

This self-portrait of the author wearing fetish spiked gear has been printed on a soft blanket. The balloons are being poked with the spikes, contrasting to the wark and soft texture of the blanket. The underlying plaster was made with a bodycast of the author’s chest and their partners’.
