RAFFLE: “I USED TO HAVE A BOY”
Hello! So, as you might know I’m starting a PhD this January. And so far I’m self-funded. This means I have to pay tuition and also my living expenses. I decided to raffle this painting to help me through January. I’ve made 100 tickets, for £25 each, and I’ll send the painting to your location. Or if you prefer we can grab a cuppa and deliver it in person. WINNER ANNOUNCED ON JANUARY 31ST
This painting is titled I used to have a boy. It’s part of a series of paintings about my psychoanalytic exploration of my childhood. This one is about this particular memory of being very very young and while my mum showered me, I tucked. And she joyfully said “Oh, I used to have a boy, now I have a girl”. Funny how gender performativity got embeded in me.
Thank you for taking your time to read this. If you cannot buy a ticket, you can help me by sharing this link with your friends and family. I promise I’ll be good PhDer.
Adrián, love you all.
If you’re feeling extra generous or you want to help but don’t want my pink painting, go ahead! Every bit counts. I’ll love you forever.
